Teale Vella

Physiotherapist

APA Titled Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist, MACP.

Teale is a passionate Physiotherapist focused on educating, empowering and advocating for the health of her patients. Her special interest is in the treatment of female athletes bridging the gap between high performance and pelvic health physiotherapy.

After spending several years working in Football in A-League Women’s, National Premier League and Illawarra Premier League, Teale saw an apparent lack of education and consideration for the unique characteristics of the female athlete, by both athletes and health professionals. Since then, Teale has furthered her studies with post graduate training in Women’s Health and a Masters in Sports Medicine with The University of Melbourne.

She has obtained formal recognition as a Titled Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist with the Australian Physiotherapy Association and is a member of the Australian College of Physiotherapists. More information about titling can be found here.

Additionally, Teale regularly contributes to research and collaborates with other healthcare professionals. Teale contributed to industry leading research with The University of Sydney investigating heading injuries in Youth National Premier League. This research was used to inform injury prevention policy by FIFA and Football NSW.
